Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is partnering with a highly regarded law firm to identify a Legal Assistant / Practice Assistant for its Orange County office. This is a highly visible role supporting attorneys and practice teams through a combination of administrative, client service, litigation, and business development responsibilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Attorney & Practice Support

  • Manage attorney calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and communications.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and outside vendors to support litigation, transactions, and client matters.
  • Assist with document preparation, editing, proofreading, and administrative projects.
  • Support case teams with research, spreadsheets, correspondence, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files and assist with document production and distribution.

Client Intake, Billing & Filings

  • Assist with new client and matter intake processes.
  • Support state and federal court filings and coordinate with filing service providers.
  • Assist with time entry, billing, and matter management functions.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Prepare attorney biographies, presentation materials, and marketing documents.
  • Maintain contact databases and support business development initiatives.
  • Conduct research and assist with client events, sponsorships, and relationship-building activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience supporting attorneys with calendaring, travel coordination, document management, and client communications.
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures, legal research platforms, and billing/time-entry systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Professional, service-oriented, and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to support business demands.
